The Nation's Weather for Friday, December 29, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
The latest storm to push onshore into the West Coast will
bring areas of steady and sometimes heavy rain near and
along the Northern California coast tomorrow. Persistent
rain can be expected from southwestern Oregon through much
of coastal Central California, but showers may extend north
through the Washington coast and south to the Santa Barbara,
California, area by day's end. A lingering disturbance will
bring a mix of rain and snow from Illinois into Missouri and
Tennessee, where some will have their first snowflakes of
the season. Rain and drizzle will stretch north and east
across Lower Michigan and much of the Northeast, with
steadier rain likely in New England. Showers will also build
over interior parts of the mid-Atlantic, with high pressure
keeping most other locations dry.
