The Nation's Weather for Sunday, January 21, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
An active pattern continues in the West tomorrow, with the
risk for precipitation extending along the entire West coast
as another round of moisture pushes onshore. This will
produce steady rain from Washington into the Northern
California coastline, with numerous showers stretching to
the San Diego area. Farther inland, colder air will lead to
snow instead for interior sections of the Northwest as well
as within the high terrain of the Four Corners region. A
significant storm will begin to take shape in the southern
Plains as the day progresses, bringing expanded coverage of
rain from South Texas toward central parts of the state by
day's end. Strong high pressure centered over the Ohio
Valley will mean dry conditions for most of the East, but
lake-effect snow ends early in the interior Northeast.
