The Nation's Weather for Saturday, March 9, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
As a complex storm continues to intensify tomorrow, severe
thunderstorms will again be possible in parts of the
Southeast, with damaging winds and the chance for tornadoes
covering a zone from the Florida Panhandle northeastward
across much of Georgia and across eastern North Carolina.
Rain from this storm will extend as far east as New York
state, with embedded thunder most likely south of a line
from southern Ohio to Baltimore. Precipitation is expected
to change from rain to snow for much of Lower Michigan
through the day, with snow at times for the Upper Peninsula
as well. Otherwise, most locations west of the Mississippi
River should be dry under an abundance of high pressure,
with the main exception being the Pacific Northwest, where a
new storm will bring rain and snow.
