The Nation's Weather for Thursday, May 30, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms capable of producing hail and damaging winds
will rumble from the Dakotas to Texas tomorrow. While most
of the storms will be confined to the afternoon, they could
occur at any time in eastern Nebraska and central and
eastern Kansas. Elsewhere, a zone of morning thunderstorms
will stretch from central Mississippi east-southeastward to
southwestern Georgia. Showers will dampen the coastal
Northeast from Maine to New Jersey. A few afternoon showers
are expected in north-central Montana. The rest of the
country is likely to have a dry day. Sunshine and the lack
of rain will allow temperatures to challenge daily record
highs in parts of the Florida Peninsula. Portions of West
Texas and the Desert Southwest can expect highs over 100
degrees Fahrenheit.
