The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, January 14, 2025
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Downwind of the Great Lakes, lake-effect snow showers will
continue tomorrow. Any heavier snow shower can lead to rapid
reductions in visibility. Just to the south, a quick burst
of snow will move through the Ohio Valley and can bring
slippery travel. In Southern California, strong Santa Ana
winds are expected to peak with wind gusts of 60-80 mph
expected. Strong wind gusts in combination with dry brush
and low humidity will lead to an extreme fire risk. Fires
can move quickly and be challenging to contain. There can be
a spotty shower in South Texas and South Florida. The rest
of the nation will be dry except for a few snow showers in
Wyoming. East of the Rockies it will be cold and from North
Dakota to Alabama high temperatures will be 10-15 degrees
Fahrenheit below the historical average.
