The Nation's Weather for Sunday, February 23, 2025
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Tomorrow, a storm moving through the Pacific Northwest will
bring drenching rain, some mountain snow and strong winds
along the coast. Heavy downpours can lead to flooding,
particularly in low-lying and poor drainage areas. In the
Cascades, snow levels will be quite high and precipitation
will be mostly rain. There will be an increased risk for
avalanches. Elsewhere, a developing storm will bring periods
of heavy rain and thunder to the Louisiana and eastern Texas
coasts. Rain will continue to push east into Mississippi and
Alabama overnight. Heavy rain can lead to ponding on
roadways. In the Plains, it will be rather dry and turning
noticeably warmer with at least partial sunshine. After
relentless cold weather, it will feel milder with
temperatures near the historical average.
