NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms from eastern North Carolina southwestward
through central Alabama can cause flash flooding and
isolated instances of damaging wind gusts tomorrow. Locally
heavy rain may also present flooding issues around Baltimore
and Washington, D.C., primarily during the morning. Farther
west, afternoon thunderstorms will occur in central and
eastern North Dakota. These storms are expected to move
southeastward into South Dakota and western Minnesota late
in the day and may continue southward through Minnesota
overnight. Intense heat will continue to bake the southern
Plains with temperatures well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit in
much of Texas. A second zone of heat will be over the
Southwest, with desert locations climbing above 110 degrees.
New England is expected to have temperatures below normal.
