NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms are likely to fire tomorrow in the Northeast,
mid-Atlantic and Appalachians. Isolated storms are expected
to become severe. Damaging winds, small hail and a couple of
tornadoes are possible in addition to heavy rainfall and
frequent lightning. Storms will develop along an approaching
front during the afternoon, before sweeping across the
region during the evening and moving offshore overnight.
Meanwhile, additional showers and thunderstorms will be
ongoing in the Southeast. Storms will be moving slowly and
will be capable of producing heavy rainfall, leading to a
threat of flash flooding along the Gulf coast. Extreme heat
will continue in the southern Plains and Intermountain West,
with highs in the 100s and 110s in many areas.
