The BOS meeting on Jan. 21 brought out several residents with pressing questions and concerns about recent county decisions.
At Monday night’s community forum at Covenant Presbyterian church, BOS president Carl McGee and vice-president Lee Gordon encouraged county residents to take advantage of being heard at the meetings.
McGee told residents who were eager to know whether certain decisions could be overturned, “Being president is not what you think it is. … As president, I get one vote. I can’t make a motion and I can’t second a motion.”
With that, Gordon stressed the importance of Washington County residents exercising their rights to be heard and their rights to information.
