Greenville City Elections are set to take place Monday with polls opening at 7 a.m. and closing at 7 p.m.
To cast a ballot, voters must have a valid government-issued photo identification, which can include a driver’s license, a state-issued ID card, a passport, a government employee ID card, a firearms license, a student ID from any Mississippi college, a military ID or a Mississippi Voter identification card.
Running for Mayor of the City of Greenville is Errick Simmons, who is running uncontested, and votes for the mayoral candidate can be placed at all six wards.
Vying for the seat of Council Member Ward 1 are Al Brock (Independent) and Oliver Johnson (Democrat).
Lois Hawkins (Democrat), is running uncontested for the seat of Council Member Ward 2.
Running for the seat of Council Member Ward 6 are Chauncy Wright (Independent) and James Wilson Sr. (Democrat).
The following are the six designated voting precincts:
Ward 1 — Buster Brown Community Center, 400 Robertshaw St.
Ward 2 — Elk’s Lodge, 1818 E. Alexander St.
Ward 3 — Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1865 S. Main St.
Ward 4 — Senior Civic Center, 142 N Shelby St.
Ward 5 — Ward’s Recreation Center, 1648 Mississippi 1 S.
Ward 6 — Greater Springfield Baptist Church, 802 Harris St.
