There are big changes taking place in Washington County, one of which will happen today.
Washington County Economic Alliance executive director Will Coppage briefed the Washington County Board of Supervisors on significant developments throughout Greenville at their Monday morning meeting.
Today at noon, Coppage said there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly constructed Nufarm Americas manufacturing facility.
“This is a big win for Washington County,” Coppage said. “This is something that we’ve worked for a long time.”
The official announcement of Nufarm Americas Inc. expanding their manufacturing operations to Greenville came in November 2018.
The facility, according to its website, will support Nufarm’s growing herbicide and cotton portfolios with state-of-the-art formulation and packaging operations.
Nufarm isn’t the only new business coming to town, Coppage said, noting this weekend will be another business hosting a ribbon cutting.
At 10 a.m. Saturday, Tractor Supply Company will host a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of its doors in the previous K-Mart location on Highway 82.
Saturday’s ribbon cutting will be a family-friendly, fun day for everybody who would like to attend, Coppage said.
Also on Highway 82, Wendy’s fast food restaurant is in the process of being remolded, which Coppage said proves there are great changes taking place in the city.
“What this does is shows positive growth is going on for Highway 82,” Coppage said.
