Voting day is approaching for several running for local and state office positions. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
To cast a ballot, voters must have a valid government-issued photo identification, which can include a driver’s license, a state-issued ID card, a passport, a government employee ID card, a firearms license, a student ID from any Mississippi college, a military ID or a Mississippi Voter identification card.
The general election will take place Nov. 5.
The candidates running for local office and the positions they are vying for:
- Supervisor District 1: Mark Crawford and David Morgan, both Democrat, and Lee Gordon, Mike Jones, Vernon Greenlee and James L. Robinson, all Independent;
- Supervisor District 2: Tommy Benson III, Jacqueline McCoy and Debra Redmon-Williams, all Democrat, and Lavante Epson and William Brozovich, both Independent;
