The numbers for Washington County general elections have officially been certified as of Friday afternoon after officials counted absentee ballots.
Mala Brooks was the only non-incumbent to win and increased her 13-vote margin to 154 votes with a 1,381 to 1,227 win over Jesse Amos in the District 4 Supervisor race.
The closest race turned out to be Lee Gordon’s 23-vote win over Mark Crawford for District 1 Supervisor.
Tommy Benson kept his seat in Supervisor District 2 with a 1,260 to 800 vote win over William Brozovich. Lavante Epson was third with 488 votes.
Carl McGee was unopposed in District 3.
Jerry Redmond maintained his seat in Supervisor District 5 with a 1,598 to 280 vote win over Tony Franks.
Other local contested elections and results are:
n Sandra Reed defeated Vicki Powell Cork 1398-787 for election commissioner District 2;
n Milton Gaston Sr. defeated Laquanna M. Wesley 8,191 to 3,673 for Washington County Sheriff;
n Methel Johnson defeated Jerry Shelton Sr. 8,021 to 3,253 for Washington County Coroner;
n Derrick Simmons defeated Paul D. Pecou 7,505 to 1,749 for Senate District 12; and
n Joseph Thomas Sr. defeated Hayes Dent 1,398 to 865 for Senate District 22.
Of the 32,026 registered voters in Washington County, 11,807 cast ballots for 36.87% of total voters.
There were 16 uncontested local races of 25 total local races on the ballot.
