Paul Lacoste, fitness crusader, is bringing his free bootcamp “Next Level Mississippi 2019” to Greenville.
The fitness program is sponsored by a grant from the Mississippi Department of Human Services and Families First for Mississippi.
“Obesity is something that’s hitting us all,” said Lacoste. “It doesn’t matter if you’re a man, woman, or child. Doesn’t matter where you’re from or your background. It affects us all and it’s such a big national financial issue and a state financial issue,”
Training sessions will begin on May 28. The registration ends on May 20. The sessions will be every Tuesday - Friday at either 5-6 a.m. or 6-7 a.m. at YMCA.
It is a 12 week long program. They will place you with people that you can identify with based on your weight class.
They will have a dietician as well as trainers there to assist you with your eating habits. Regardless if you’re trying to gain weight or lose it, the training will assist with all.
Participants are required to submit a $20 “accountability” payment. The check will not be cashed unless a participant drops out before the program is complete.
Participants are also not allowed to miss more than six training sessions. All participants must also attend the pre-fitness and post-fitness tests.
Lacoste is a former All-American linebacker who played at Mississippi State. He was diagnosed with West Nile Virus in 2012 and since then has battled kidney cancer.
