Greenville native Alicia Ervin-Rawls is hosting a book signing this week at Garfield’s Restaurant & Pub.
Folks will have a chance to chat with the local, first-time author from 4-6 p.m. Friday at the restaurant, which is located by the front entrance of the Greenville Mall.
Ervin-Rawls’ book, “Working in the Lion’s Den: How to Survive in a Stressful Work Environment” focuses on her career as an educator for Greenville Public School District for the past 17 years. During her time with the school district, Ervin-Rawls worked as a teacher in a class to an administrator in an office.
Her book explains to readers how to deal with challenges and adversity from a Christian standpoint. The lion is used as a metaphor for the challenges faced in the workplace. It also focuses on the way people would deal with facing these lions.
“(Readers) will gain a positive perspective on how to deal with lions in the workplace and learn a strategic process on dealing with adversity from day-to-day,” Ervin-Rawls said.
The book was published June 2019 through amazon.com and costs $19.99 on Amazon’s website. Or, Ervin-Rawls can be emailed at alicia951@yahoo.com to personally purchase a copy.
“Come out Friday and ask questions about the book or in reference to my personal experiences that was read in this memoir,” Ervin-Rawls said. “I want the readers to face-to-face interactions with me. The first 10 customers will receive 50% off the book.”
