Harlow’s Casino Resort & Spa is inviting all those who are interested in starting the new year off with a fresh and exciting career opportunity to its upcoming job fair.
As reported on its Facebook page, Harlow’s wants prospective job seekers to consider joining its team of the industry’s finest talent and where they will enjoy competitive wages and an attractive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, stock, life insurance and a 401k with a match.
The job fair will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the WIN Job Center, 800 Martin Luther King Blvd.
Keith Johnson, human resources generalist for Harlow’s, expounded on the unique opportunities Harlow’s extends to its team members.
In the company’s effort to engage with the community and increase employment, Johnson said it is important for potential candidates to know not only can they acquire a job with Harlow’s but build a career.
“You can go from being a dishwasher to a food and beverage supervisor,” he said.
Harlow’s also provides a reimbursement tuition program for employees who desire to attain a degree, bachelor’s or otherwise, to help further their career in the industry.
The company’s connections with Mississippi Valley State University and other organizations helps to make such opportunities possible.
“If you want to go to school for marketing, we’ll fund that marketing education. It’s a good opportunity for someone who doesn’t have the degree or the funds,” Johnson said, noting Churchill Downs is always happy to assist in those types of endeavors.
“We treat our team here at the casino more as a family,” he said.
Gaming opportunities include an experienced multi-games dealer, table games dual rate supervisor, compliance coordinator, assistant cage supervisor, surveillance operator, casino service representative (cage cashier), revenue auditor, guest service representative, main banker (cage), security officer, slot attendant and slot technician.
Non-gaming opportunities include a beverage server, banquet server, food server, barista, steward, cook, buffet cashier, sand bar cashier, kitchen supervisor, food and beverage supervisor, hotel room attendant, general maintenance, HVAC/maintenance technician and full-time and part-time environment services attendant (EVS).
Gaming Opportunities requires a Mississippi Gaming work permit, which is $125, and must be paid by the applicant.
