LELAND — The City of Leland held a public hearing Thursday evening on the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
The city’s budget with a total revenue of $7,926,998 for the fiscal year 2019-2020 was unanimously approved by the Board of Aldermen.
Final figures of the budget and allocations were still being finalized by press time Monday afternoon.
According to the previous story printed in the Delta Democrat-Times, of the city’s total revenues, $2,825,927 was to be allocated for the general fund; $616,406 for the solid waste fund; $3,435,000 for the electrical fund; $835,800 for the water and sewer fund; $208,593 for the bond fund; $25,582 for fire protection; and $500 for drug enforcement.
Total expenditures amounted to $8,070,751 and it appeared as though the city would be $122,943 in the red. However, the city’s excess expenditures was mitigated by $403,400 left over from the previous fiscal year.
