The United Way Housing Initiative will be working to repair homes throughout Washington County in the next couple of weeks. This year, the United Way along with partner volunteer teams will repair 15 homes in Washington County.
The following volunteer employee teams will make repairs to homes in Greenville & Winterville: Entergy, Young Construction, First Presbyterian Church, 100 Black Men, Greenville Fire Department, Gerald Andrus Steam Plant, Washington County Drug Court, Atmos, USG, Delta Sigma Theta and Lake Vista Masonic Lodge.
Also, this year Leland Habitat Volunteers will be completing repairs on a home in Leland and there will be three homes repaired in Hollandale by Community Volunteers, New Foundation MB Church and Mt. Olive Church.
Funding for the United Way Housing Initiative is provided by the United Way of Washington County’s generous campaign donors and a generous grant received from the King’s Daughters and Son Circle # 2.
McCoy’s provides a discount for supplies purchased for the workday and Wendy’s store manager Ralph Henry accommodates the feeding of lunch for the many volunteers who will be repairing the homes.
