Schneider Electric will be assisting Western Line School District with renovations made at many buildings throughout the district.
The company will provide enhanced LED lighting throughout buildings, classrooms and athletic fields, as well as replace old air conditioning units with newer fuel efficient units.
Schneider will be installing a new timing system that will allow the maintenance department to operate lights and HVAC controls from their cell phones at any time of the day or night. After Schneiders finishes with the assessment, the company is giving WLSD different upgrade options.
Schneider was the only company to submit a proposal to complete this energy savings project.
“The process to move forward with Schneider was a very lengthy process,” said Lawrence Hudson, superintendent. “We have been researching different methods to improve lightening throughout our district and Schneider provided the best alternative.”
Schneider guarantees annual savings and if the district falls below that number, the company will pay the difference.
Schneider Electric develops connected technologies and solutions to manage energy and process in ways that are safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable. The group invests in R&D in order to sustain innovation and differentiation, with a strong commitment to sustainable development.
WLSD is funding the project through a lease purchase agreement. The guaranteed annual savings will be used to pay for the project.
Dorothy Montgomery, school board president, is proud of the cost effective program that is being implemented.
“We are looking forward to upgrading our facility lighting and we want to do it in the most cost effective way,” Montgomery said. “Schneider has shown us a program that will help us do just that.”
