The Western Line School District is getting ready to host a recruitment fair this weekend for all interested applicants.
The fair will run from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at O’Bannon Elementary School gymnasium 1203 Raceway Road.
The recruitment fair will offer an opportunity for potential candidates such as first-time teachers, veteran teachers, administrators, coaches and even non-certified individuals to learn about the district and see what positions are available.
According to its flyer, Western Line offers competitive teacher/administrative salaries, a $3,500 local supplement for teachers with 0-13 years experience, a $3,800 local supplement for teachers with 14-35 years experience and opportunities for growth educationally and professionally.
Having the highest accountability grade in Washington County with a B rating, WLSD states it is offering interested individuals a chance to “take part in its stride for continued success.”
WLSD is top in the state in pre-k readiness, top five in kindergarten readiness and has been named one of the safest districts in the state.
Administrators from each school and representatives from each department will be on site to help with any questions or concerns.
“We are asking candidates to bring resumes and be prepared to talk about their past teaching experiences that makes them the right fit for Western Line School District,” Superintendent Lawrence Hudson said. “We are dedicated to providing our students with dedicated and passionate teachers who will support and encourage each child to reach his or her optimum potential.”
