A local woman died this week after being attacked by her boyfriend when he was upset he couldn’t immediately make contact with her.
At about 6 p.m. Monday, Greenville Police Department Assistant Police Chief Michael Merchant said officers were already on call at Delta Regional Medical Center when 22-year-old Terrick Wright Jr. drove into the ER parking lot at a high-rate of speed in a white panel truck.
“Wright exited the vehicle very irate and screaming as he tried to remove an unresponsive female from the vehicle,” Merchant said.
The female, who has been identified as 25-year-old Tymoneshia Parson, was immediately assisted by hospital staff, but she died from her injuries.
Merchant said the incident started earlier that afternoon when Wright could not locate Parson for a short amount of time. Once he found her in the 1100 block of Nelson Street, he assaulted her and forced her into his truck.
When they were at the 1000 block of North Broadway Street, Parson tried to escape and was run over by the back end of the truck.
Wright has been charged with kidnapping and manslaughter and is being held at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility. His bond was set Wednesday at $250,000 by Judge Michael Prewitt.
