GREENVILLE — Graveside services for Diane Taggart McWhorter, 76, of Greenville, will be held for immediate family only due to COVID at Leland-Stoneville Cemetery. She passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, at her home from complications following a recent brain cancer diagnosis. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was born April 5, 1944, in Greenville, and was the daughter of Alice Belle and James Burt Taggart.
Diane worked portions of her life at Cotton Patch and Farnsworth’s. She was always busy, often working behind the scenes to help those in need starting as early as the mid-70’s. Her true work in later life was nursing her ailing parents and husband. She was a natural caregiver and a fierce advocate for her family. Diane dedicated her life to her love for Jesus Christ, her love for her family, and helping those less fortunate. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Alice Belle Taggart and James Burt Taggart Sr.; her sister, Barbara Taggart Williams; and her husband, Max McWhorter Sr.
She is survived by her son, Max McWhorter Jr., of Hoover, AL; daughter, Sug McWhorter Borgognoni, of Lake Village, AR; her brother, James Burt Taggart Jr., of Little Rock, AR
