Doris Laird
GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Doris Lucille Hardy Branning Laird, 90, of Greenville will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. She died Monday, Nov. 11, at Washington Care Center. Burial will be in Hollandale Cemetery, under the direction of Boone Funeral Home.
She was born Sept. 18, 1929, in Satartia, to Albert Hearn Hardy and Ruby Lucille Foster Hardy. Mrs. Laird enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, attending Church activities and tending to her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, David Branning and infant son; grandsons, Jonathon Smith and Hunter Branning; brothers, Vaughn, Preston, Vernon, Bobby Lee, James and Leonard Hardy; and sister, Rita Janos.
Mrs. Laird is survived by three daughters, Lynda Naron (B.A.), of Grenada, Debbie Branning, of Greenville, Vicky Turnage (Danny), of Leland; three sons, William Branning (Sharon), of Harrison, Arkansas, Roger Branning (Kaye), of Pensacola, Florida, and Dennis Branning (Shannon), of Bogue Chitto; brother, Melvin Hardy (Betty) McComb; sisters, Ruby Dawson, Clinton, Nathalee Johnston, Crosby, Vera Spencer (Carl), of Byram, Erma Green, Magee. Mrs. Laird is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
There will be a visitation one hour prior to services at Boone Funeral Home.
