INDIANOLA — Funeral services for Janie Townsend, 76 of Indianola, MS will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Friendship MB Church, Indianola with the Rev. Dr. C.W. Ray officiating. She died Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Hayes Chapel Byas Funeral Home, Indianola, MS.
Survivors include her husband, Green Townsend Jr.; sons, Torrance and Derrick Townsend; daughter, Melodie Townsend; brothers, Johnny Williams, Lee and O.D. Howard and Curtis Longmire; sisters, Ola Mae and Bertha Howard, Stella Smith and Blondine Chambers; 15 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
