Staff Sergeant (R) John Henry Ware funeral services are as follow: Wake will be held Friday June 7, 2024 2-4 P.M.; Homegoing will be at 11 A.M. on June 8, 2024 at the Lily of The Valley Church of God in Christ, and Repast will follow the homegoing at House of Prayer Church of God.
SSG (R) John H. Ware was born February 20, 1945 to Charlie and Beatrice Ware in Leland, Mississippi whom preceded him in death. He departed this life on May 25, 2024. On January 1, 1974, he was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life the late Pearlie G Ware of Greenville, MS (March 28, 2017). Through this union eight much loved children were born and/or raised/loved/cherished: Raymond Titus Selmon, Timothy Selmon (Ali), Mario Lydell Ware(Linda), Lesondra Ware (William), Patrick Wyndell Smith, John Travis Ware, Angela Ware, and Jarica Deshuntea’ Ware. He also has 20 beautiful grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and a host of family/friends that will cherish and continue his legacy and memory forever.
SSG (R) John H. Ware was a Vietnam Combat War Veteran that retired from the U.S. Army/U.S. Army Reserves with 37 years of Service combined. He also retired from Nicholson Files/Cooper Tools/Producer’s Rice with over 45 consecutive years of service. He graduated from Breisch High School in 1965 and received an Associate in Arts Degree from Coahoma Junior College May 19, 1977. He worked hard to provide for his family and made sure to set an example and pushed us to do better and want better in life.
Love ones left behind to cherish his memory is one sister Inez Ware Bracket of Greenville, MS and five brothers, Otha D. Bass of Marion, IN, Eugene Ware of Greenville, MS, Command Sergeant Major (R) Earl L. Ware (Pam) of St. Augustine, FL , Charles E. Ware of Greenville, MS and Freddy Ware of Greenville, MS.
Love ones that preceded John in death to include his beloved wife Pearlie G. Ware, his parents Charles F. and Beatrice P. Ware, three sisters Claudie Wright, Eunice Kirkwood and Alfreda Anne Marie Payne, and three brothers Charlie E. Ware, General McArthur Ware and LeMurl Sabastin Ware
John was baptized at the early age of seven at New Morning Star Baptist Church by J.W. Williams in Leland, Mississippi. He continued his faith and spirituality with and through his late wife Pearlie “Checo” Ware after relocating to Greenville, MS.
