LOS ANGELES, Califorina - Lee Andrew Davis son of Mr. Walter Davis and Mrs. Cammie Rutley Davis died October 12, 2023 in Los Angeles CA. Lee Andrew was born August 29, 1943 in Indianola MS. He was the second oldest of nine (9) children.
Lee Andrew attended elementary school at Lincoln Attendance Center and graduated in May 1964 from Breisch High School in Leland MS. Lee Andrew was a star quarterback for the Breisch High Braves during his high school years.
Upon graduating from high school Lee left Leland for Los Angeles CA, along with traveling companions Allen Roy Dillon, Joe Beck and Sammy Davis. Lee lived with his maternal grandmother Mrs. Alice Clark. During his high school years he worked at Tony's Groceries in Leland. Lee was employed at Pacific Tube Co as a crane operator for over 30 years until he retired in 2001.
Lee Andrew married his true love Sandra Kaye Brager in May 1974. They were married for almost 40 years, until her death in 2014. They had one son Lee Andrew Davis Jr, one adopted son Royce Davis and two grandchildren.
Lee was affiliated with Beulah Grove MB Church in Leland at an early age under the leadership of Pastor F. T. Turner. His last known church membership was with Crenshaw Christian Center in Los Angeles CA. He joined Crenshaw Christian Center in 1983 under the leadership of Dr Frederick K C Price. Lee served in various Help ministries. He served with the usher's ministry from 1983 until 2023.
He was Usher Auxiliary leader from 2002 to 2012. He served with the COP
(Community Outreach Program from 2007 to 2014. Lee Andrew was a faithful dedicated member and loved his church and church family.
Lee was preceded in death by his wife Sandra, his father, Mr. Walter Davis, his grandmother Mrs. Alice Clark, two brothers Lonzo Davis and Floyd Davis.
He leaves to cherish his forever memories: his sons Lee Andrew Davis Jr and Royce Davis of Los Angeles CA, his mother Cammie Davis of Leland, two sisters Mary Alice Davis of Chicago, IL, Flora Davis of Leland; four brothers Alvin Davis of Leland MS, John Arthur Davis of Indianola MS, Willie Earl Davis of Pasadena CA and GB Davis of Pine Bluff AR. Also a hosts of relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
