Mario Applewhite
INDIANOLA — Funeral services for Mario T. Applewhite, 31, of Indianola, will be at noon Saturday, Sept. 23, 2019, at Oak Grove MB Church, Inverness, with Bishop Roderick Mitchell officiating. He died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Gardens, Indianola, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.
He is survived by his father, Verna Applewhite, of Indianola; mother, Shirley Spivey-Applewhite, of Lithonia, Georgia; sons, Demarrion and Mario Applewhite Jr., both of Indianola; daughter, Ah’Riyah Rice, of Texas; fiance, Constance Jennings, of Inverness; brothers, Deangelo Lamarquis, Vernon Applewhite, Chad Hayes and Messiah Applewhite, all of Indianola, Michael Barnes, of Atlanta, Vernon and Julius Jackson, of Peoria, Illinois, and Corean Barnes, of Washington; sisters, Julia Swain and Kenya Applewhite, both of Lithonia, Georgia, Kimberly Lay, Shanburnika Stewart and Angela Jackson, all of Indianola, and Nambia Barnes and Tomorrow Curtis, both of Kansas City, Kansas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m., with family hour from 5-6 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
