NEW ALBANY, Mississippi - Funeral Services for Mrs. Rayola W. Smith, 87, of New Albany, who passed on March 13, 2024 at Union County Health and Rehab were held on Saturday March 16, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Mortimer Funeral Home Chapel in Greenville. Visitation was from 1-2 p.m. Brother Arthur Scott will be officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Smith is a former resident of Greenville and moved to Blue Springs 21 years ago. She worked as a hostess at the Holiday Inn in Greenville. She was a member of Glendale Baptist Church in Leland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles K. Smith, her parents, Ark Won Wong and Viola Anderson, and her brothers, Charles Williams and Ray Williams.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Fayn (Mark) Dye of Blue Springs, and Anita Ann Smith of Kinston, Alabama; her sister, Mary Riportella of Exeter, California; her brother, and George (Mary) Williams of Exeter, as well as four Grandchildren; Amanda (Jamie) Ridgon of Kinston; George (Candice) Hamilton of Jacksonville, Florida; Sean (Wendi) Collier of Okinawa, Japan, and Christy (Jonathon) Clayton of Blue Springs. She is also survived by five Great Grandchildren; Austin Ridgon of Fort Leonardwood, Missouri; Mason Ridgon of Kinston; Desmond Hamilton of Jacksonville; Caroline Collier of Okinawa; and Fenley Collier of Okinawa. Special recognition to Gina Riportella, Mike Riportella and George Williams Jr who showed special love towards their Aunt Rayola.
