Ruby Taylor
ROSEDALE — Ruby Lee Taylor of Rosedale, passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease on July 22, 2020 at the age of 84. She was a graduate of Rosedale Colored High School and received an associate degree from Coahoma Community College. Ruby served as a teacher with Bolivar County Head Start for over 35 years. She was a faithfully devoted member of Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday School Superintendent for over 25 years. Affectionately known as “Ms. Ruby,” she was a leader in her community and was known for her passion for both the elderly and the young and her Christian work in the community and frequent acts of charity.
Ruby was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt to a large family whom she loved dearly.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Darnas Johnson; son, Dwight Taylor; sisters, Mandy Pope, Rosemary Taylor, and Barbara Nicholas; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will be holding a private memorial service at Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville.
