GREENVILLE, Mississippi - Funeral services for Veronica Richardson, 82, of Greenville, who died Thursday, May 9, 2024, will be held May 18, 2024, 2:30 pm at St. Matthews A.M.E. Church, Greenville, visitation will be May 18, 2024, at St. Matthews A.M.E. Church, 1:30-2:30 pm burial will follow services at Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home.
Mrs. Veronica L. Richardson passed away at the age of 82 years old. She was a remarkable person who touched the lives of so many people. Veronica was born March 17, 1942, to Anthony B. Levison and Rosa Lee Levison. She graduated from Breisch High School in 1959. Then she attended Alcorn State University, graduating in 1963 with a degree in Education. She followed this by obtaining her master's degree in education from Indiana University.
Veronica taught elementary students in both Leland and Greenville Mississippi for many years. She served as Principal at Leland Elementary until her retirement. Veronica was a dedicated member of several organizations. She served as an Usher Board member at St. Matthews Church in Greenville, MS. She was also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Alcorn Alumni Association, and Les Modernattes Club.
Mrs. Richardson was married to Donald Richardson until his passing on July 1, 2020. She is survived by her son, Donald A. Richardson (Felicia) and her daughter Nicole R. Richardson. She leaves behind five grandchildren: Brian, Jaslyn, Donald, Timothy, and Farrah; two sisters, Luada Buckner (Ulysses Pete) and Janet Mauldin (Anthony). She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her loving brother, Anthony Levison (Patricia).
