Congressman Bennie Thompson Announces U. S. Department of Transportation Awards $1 Million to the City of Jackson
United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) recently announced the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded $1 million in grant funds through the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Route Planning Restoration Program to the City of Jackson, Mississippi. The Route Planning Restoration Program provides funds under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 for public transportation planning associated with the restoration of transit service reduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) recently announced the U.S. Department of the Interior has awarded $3,226,022 in Land and Water Conservation Funds (LWCF) to the State of Mississippi for outdoor recreation and conservation projects. The LWCF supports increased public access to and protection for federal public lands and waters — including national parks, forests, wildlife refuges and recreation areas — and provides matching grants to state governments for the acquisition and development of public parks and other outdoor recreation sites.
