The Greenville Public School District Board of Trustees has appointed and approved Dr. Ilean Richards as superintendent for the 2025-2026 academic year. During a special meeting held on Thursday, July 10, at the Melissa Manning Curriculum Complex, the board finalized the appointment.
Richards is a highly qualified educator, administrator, former superintendent, conservator, and educational consultant, bringing over 50 years of experience in education and an extensive background in revitalizing struggling school districts.
According to GPSD Board of Trustees President Antoinette Williams, the district is committed to ensuring every student receives a quality education.
“The Greenville Public School District Board of Trustees is ecstatic to have Dr. Ilean Richards as our new superintendent,” said Williams.
“She brings a proven track record of achieving the necessary improvements we require at this time. She embodies structure, excellence, and genuine care for students. We have utmost confidence that GPSD is poised for greatness.
