Two members of the Delta Regional Medical Center (DRMC) team were honored by the Mississippi Association of Supervisors Minority Caucus at the 2019 Annual Scholarship Banquet. Scott Christensen, Chief Executive Officer, and Sylvia Jackson, Board Member, were each presented with the Community Legend Award for their service to the Delta and community they both serve.
The Mississippi Association of Supervisors Minority Caucus extends the honor to individuals who work in their community with unselfish generosity and positive contributions to effect change as well as being a champion and ambassador in their region.
Christensen has been employed with Delta Regional Medical Center for over six years and has led the organization as the Chief Executive Officer for over five of those years. Jackson has served on the Delta Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees for 12 years and recently retired as the Director of the Area Agency on Aging of the South Delta Planning and Development District.
Christensen says, “Since the moment I stepped foot in the Delta, everything I’ve tried to do has been to put back and invest in our community. My true hope is that people see that, and see it as leading by example of a commitment to where you live. Each day, the decisions we make affect the lives of thousands who are depending on us to keep them safe on our watch. There are so many on our DRMC team and in our community deserving of this award that I’m reassured we can thrive under whatever challenges we face.”
