Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Adron Belk II of Greenwood announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Merritt Montgomery Belk of Greenwood, to Zachary Ryan Harris of Greenville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Harris of Greenville.
Grandparents of the prospective bridegroom are Mrs. Betty Harris Kaylor of Euless, TX and the late Mr. Kenneth Douglas Harris and the late Mr. Hubert Leroy Kaylor and Mrs. Emma Cabano Sanchez of Stephenville, TX and the late Mr. Elbie Kirkman Cannon, Sr.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. Frederick Adron Belk and the late Mrs. Betty Bowie Belk and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Anslum Warren III, all of Greenwood.
Miss Belk is a 2014 graduate of Pillow Academy. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Entrepreneurship at the University of Mississippi. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and Rho Lambda Honor Society. Miss Belk was also elected to serve on the University of Mississippi’s Associated Student Body Senate.
Mr. Harris is a 2014 graduate of Washington School. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with a Pre-Med emphasis. He was a member of the Tau Beta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies. He was the Vice President of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Club and a student ambassador for the school of Engineering. Mr. Harris was recently selected for the University of Mississippi’s Who’s Who among students.
Both the bride and groom are employed by C.O.C. Placement Services, an international placement company out of Kansas City, Missouri.
The wedding will be at 6:30 p.m. on May 4 at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Greenwood with Reverend Peter Gray and Reverend Phillip Parker officiating.
