O’Bannon High School junior Joshua Curtis scored 21 points to help lead the Greenwaves to a 63-48 home victory over Leland High School Friday night. The victory improved O’Bannon’s record to 9-4 this season.
O’Bannon senior Octavia Wilson scored 14 points for the Greenwaves. Wilson also had 11 rebounds, six steals and four assists. O'Bannon's Keyshone Daniels added six points. Daishun Scott scored four points and grabbed seven rebounds.
O’Bannon head coach Torrione Carter gave Leland a lot of credit for staying in the game. The Greewaves opened up a 17-point lead in the third quarter, but Leland made a couple of runs to cut the O’Bannon lead to 11 points.
“We are doing better, but we still have to be more consistent,” Coach Carter said.
The Greenwaves next game is scheduled for Tuesday at Charletson. Because of inclement weather, O’Bannon’s road game against Greenville High School was postponed Saturday and will be made up on Jan. 25.
