The Greenville Parks and Recreation Department announced Monday that they are now in Phase 2 in the reopening of its city parks.
Below are the following guidelines for Phase 2:
• All outdoor basketball courts and playgrounds are open and will follow recommended social distancing guidelines by CDC and local and state government
• Baseball practice fields are open and will follow recommended social distancing guidelines by CDC and local and state government
• Outdoor pavilions are open and will follow recommended social distancing guidelines by CDC and local and state government (available for rental at Buster Brown Community Center)
• All tennis courts (Wards/ Bologna) are open for recreational play only and will follow recommended social distancing guidelines by CDC and local and state governmen
• Walking trails and Harty Park track are open
• Golf course will remain open (two persons per cart only if they are from the same household)
• Pro Shop and Club House are open (recommended to practice social distancing guidelines)
• All indoor recreational facilities will remained closed until further notice (Ward’s/Amy Covington, and Rounds)
• All park restrooms will remained closed until further notice
• All rentals of indoor facilities for private parties and gatherings will continue to be prohibited
• Vulnerable individuals are encouraged to stay home as much as possible
• All individuals when visiting and utilizing public parks and equipment should maximize physical distance (6ft apart)
• Playground equipment will not be sanitized. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK
• Groups of 100 people are allowed to gather outdoors while practicing social distancing guidelines. Limit to groups of 50 people outdoors where physical distancing CANNOT be achieved. Groups of 50 people are allowed to gather indoors while practicing social distancing guidelines. Limit to groups of 20 people indoors where physical distancing CANNOT be achieved.
• Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer if soap and water is not available
• Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
•Masks are recommended to be worn outdoors, but not required
