ARCOLA — Jarod Satterfield scored three touchdowns to lead the Deer Creek School Warriors to another victory Friday night in the Warriors 54-14 victory over North Sunflower Academy.
“It was a good victory, but we have to keep working harder because we have no room for error,” Deer Creek School coach Benny McLendon said.
Deer Creek’s Noah Allegrezza scored two touchdowns, Hayes Azlin scored a touchdown, and Brandon Hunter caught an 8-yard touchdown pass from Satterfield.
The Warriors (5-4) travel to Kemper Academy next Friday night.
South Panola 69, Greenville High 21
BATESVILLE — Greenville High School head football coach Qunitarus McCray said evrything that could go wrong just about did Friday night as the Hornets (3-5) lost on the road to one of the best high school football teams in the state of Mississippi.
“We just can’t get over the hump,” said McCray, in his first season at the helm at Greenville High School. “We are in the SEC of high school football. Right now we are Vanderbilt.”
South Panola (8-1) jumped out to a 35-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Greenville’s Jamarion Harper Harper recovered a fumble and returned it 75 yards for the Hornets’ biggest play of the game. Greenville’s Errick Simmons Jr. caught a 65-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Josh Martin. Simmons also scored on a rushing touchdown.
The Hornets will try and get back on the winning track next Friday when they host Germantown.
St. Aloysius 47, Washington 20
VICKSBURG — Washington School football coach Greg Wallace said he was pleased with the way a lot of his younger players stepped up Friday night in place of the many veteran players on the Generals (2-7) team who are injured.
“Right now we are still battling, but we are just undermanned,” Coach Wallace said.
Senior linebacker Eric Pam scored one of the three touchdowns for the Generals. Washington quarterback Caleb Janous threw a pair of touchdowns in the game. Janous connected with John Bentley Suares on a 30-yard touchdown pass, and with Eli Fratesi on a 7-yard score.
