HOLLANDALE — After another dominating performance on Thursday night in Simmons’ 36-0 victory over Shaw, the Blue Devils (7-0) now get ready for their toughest test of the season when they host West Tallahatchie (6-1).
The game between Simmons and West Tallahatchie will feature plenty of talent, especially at running back. Matching up against Simmons’ stellar running backs like Prentavis Madison, Eddie George, Kenzavius Lundy and Armani Strahan will be West Tallahatchie running backs Isaac Day (149 rushing yards per game) and Tristian Hill (115 rushing yards per game).
“This is going to be a real tough test for us. They have some really great running backs who are great athletes,” Simmons coach Derrick Hooker said.
In Friday night’s shutout victory over Shaw, it was Kanzavius Lundy who stole the show with 220 rushing yards on 12 carries and two touchdowns. Armani Strahan had 95 total yards with one rushing and one receiving score.
The Blue Devils played Friday night’s game not at full strength as players Eddie George, Jamarion Lundy and Jahcobie Thomas were all out injured; however, all three Blue Devils are expected back against the Choctaws.
The Blue Devils have outscored their seven opponents this season by a combined score of 304-12.
