AVON — With just a few games remaining in his high school career, O’Bannon senior Dontrell Byrd Jr. never expected to play quarterback. But, when freshman QB Chandler Wade broke his ankle on Oct. 8 against Leland, Byrd immediately stepped behind center and welcomed the challenge.
