Problems at the Sportsplex boiled over into the Board of Supervisors meeting.
Demetri Warren quit the Sportsplex Board a few months ago but was reappointed at the last meeting in March.
Warren came to the meeting to ask the supervisors to intervene on a Sportsplex board decision to meet on Wednesday.

John Lee wins Democratic primary for Leland Mayor

John Lee secured a decisive victory in the Democratic primary for mayor of Leland on Tuesday, April 1, receiving 395 votes.

Lee defeated opponents Brandon Keith Taylor, who received 164 votes, and Jasmine Styles, who received 70 votes.

In the alderperson races, Barbara Rose Brooks was the unopposed winner in Ward 1.
