A little over two weeks remain in Main Street Greenville’s art contest for the 11th Delta Hot Tamale Festival T-shirt and poster design.
The deadline for design submission is noon, June 10 and the entry limit is one submission per person.
Those interested in entering the contest can view the application and contest rules by visiting mainstreetgreenville.com/contests.html#/.
One of the most important guidelines of the competition is the design should incorporate or reference hot tamales with shucks; “11th Annual Delta Hot Tamale Festival”; and “Greenville, MS.”
Main Street Greenville is encouraging contestants to “stretch” their creativity in designing their artwork.
“Keeping with the tradition of Mississippi Delta Folk Art, we encourage all mediums and techniques, but preference will be given to hand-rendered artwork,” competition rules state. Failure to adhere to the rules set forth by Main Street Greenville as outlined on the entry form will result in disqualification.
The winner of the contest will receive a $300 cash prize.
Questions or concerns regarding the contest may be directed to Gretchen Giachelli by emailing gretchen@greatergreenville.org.
Artwork can be submitted digitally — jpg or pdf — or in person, with entry form, to the Greater Greenville office, 504 Central St.
