One of the most resonating proverbs is the one that says “charity begins at home.”
Walking out that belief, whether consciously or not, are Emmanuel Baptist Church and Greenville Parks and Recreation.
The two have collaborated to organize a community cleanup and beautification event from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Strange Park on Orlando Street.
Organizers are asking folks to bring their weed eaters, chain saws, drills, shovels, trailers, brooms, plants and anything else that would be of use as a means to beautify the park.
And, those who participate in the cleanup can anticipate more than just putting in some hard work.
Per the organizers, smiles, fellowship, food and drinks will be provided.
“There are people in the community that want to help and just need to know where and when they can put their hands to work,” stated parks and recreation program coordinator Cassandra Miller. “We are one Greenville. I love that this church wants to give of themselves to help get the job done.”
