The Annual Washington County Congress of Christian Education Leadership School will convene the week of June 2-5, at New Hope First Baptist Church, located at 705 Nelson Street- Greenville, MS, 6 p.m. nightly.
All churches throughout the state of Mississippi and the surrounding areas are invited and membership churches are expected.
The 105th Congress of Christian Education Leadership School is under leadership of Dr. Robert Kimber, President; Mrs. Irene Moore, Dean; Ms. Linda Malone, Secretary; and Rev. Jesse King, Moderator. Mrs. Moore will deliver the Annual Dean Address on Monday night and Dr. Kimber will deliver the Annual President Message on Thursday night.
The Dean of the Congress has complied a curriculum which includes the following: Introduction to the Bible – Dr. Lucille Calvin; Survey of the New Testament – Dr. Curtisene Davis; Children Learning to Pray (boys and girls ages 6-10) – Ms. Linda Sprouse; It’s Okay to Be Cool and a Christian (girls ages 11 and up)– Washington County Youth Leaders and Dr. ReDhonda Malone; Working with Boys in the Local Church & Community (boys ages 11 and up) – Rev. Clifton King and Deacon Roy Gordon; Theology and History of Christianity – Rev. Richard Williams; Christian Beliefs – Dr. Albert Calvin, Jr.; The Laymen as a Leader – Rev. Alvin C. Carter; The Ministry of Church Ushering – Mrs. Vera Douglas; Technology in the Life of the Church –Ms. Bennie R. Parks. The curriculum also includes two seminars: Staying Safe over the Summer and Reaching the Unsaved.
