On Monday, August 19, the Greenville Police Department responded to a report of a business burglary in the 1500 block of Highway 1 South. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the property owner, who reported that an air conditioning unit was missing from the rear of the building.
Further investigation led detectives to arrest Johnnie Wells Sr., 58, of Greenville.
Wells has been charged with Felony Grand Larceny and additional misdemeanors.
He was transported to the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility, where he is awaiting his initial appearance.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
