Terri Lane – 2024 Hot Tamale Queen
Terri Lane has made a significant impact on our community not only through her work efforts but her dedication, compassion, and commitment to her volunteer world. There are not many people in Greenville, Washington County, and the Delta that have not met or heard of “Terri Lane” and our community is stronger for it.
Terri is currently the Director of Human Resources and Marketing at the Delta Group. Prior to serving in this capacity, she served as the first Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Washington County, where she now serves as a board member. Terri’s work life talents extend far and wide including agriculture, non-profit, healthcare, retail, and business owner.
To list all her activities would take more than a few pages so listed is a small sample of what Terri has spent much of her time doing to make the world a better place.
Terri currently serves as President of the board for the Community Counseling Center, along with serving as a member of multiple boards, including the Mississippi River Marathon, Hodding Carter Memorial YMCA, Delta Force Disaster Recovery Committee, Greenville Arts Council/EE Bass Foundation and as previously stated, the Community Foundation of Washington County. To say that she is dedicated to the area is an understatement.
Her passion for serving began as soon as she landed in Greenville in 1991. Terri was not only involved but, in many cases, held leadership roles in a diverse mix of organizations such as Delta Cotton Belles, Delta Children’s Museum, Good Samaritan Center, Little and Junior Greenville Garden Club, The Salvation Army, United Way of Washington County, American Red Cross, Delta Symphony Association, and Delta Children’s Museum. Terri was a member of the Junior Auxiliary of Greenville and was also selected as the Queen in 2017 highlighting all she did for the organization.
Her awards and accomplishments include the Washington County Economic Alliance Chuck Jordan Leadership Award, United Way of Washington County Peter Watzek Award, United Way of Washington County President’s Award, Mississippi Business Journal Top 40 Under 40 Award, and Junior Women’s Club Woman of the Year.
Terri’s true and fierce love is her beautiful family, her husband William, children Shy and Patrick, and daughter-in-law, Brittney. Proud is an understatement in all directions. Second to this is the University of Alabama football team. On a Saturday afternoon in the fall, you will find Terri and William in front of their television cheering or screaming “Roll Tide.”
Terri continues to share her passion for volunteering and our community is so fortunate to be the recipient.
Dr. William Brozovich (aka – Dr. Bill)
I grew up in a family of 8 including 6 children and my parents in Rock Island, IL. After high school and college, I attended Palmer College of Chiropractic and earned a Doctorate Degree in Chiropractic Medicine. In 1986 I moved to New Orleans, LA and began practicing Chiropractic. I met my wife Rhonda there and we started our family. Our first son, Billy, was born in New Orleans. In 1989, after 2 years in the big easy, we moved to Greenville, MS to open a family practice. We continued to grow our family through the years adding Eric in 1992 and Casey in 1995. Our family of 5 has been in Greenville since and have made Washington County our permanent home. All three of our children have graduated from college and my 2 boys have moved back to the Delta to begin raising families and building careers. Our daughter is recently married and lives in Dallas, TX.
Through the years I have dedicated my time to family, sports, health, coaching, and athletic training in Washington County. My coaching began in 1991 in the city leagues and continued in the YMCA leagues. I coached traveling baseball teams, was assistant coach for Washington School’s Jr. high football, and varsity baseball, and was head coach for golf. I created The Speed Attic, a business that trains local athletes to optimize their potential both on and off the field. I am the founder and president of The Future Tour Championships, a national junior golf tournament hosted in Greenville, MS & Washington County. This tournament brings tourist to our area for 4 days & 3 nights at the beginning of June every year. The average tournament field is 185 kids (plus family)! We are proud that this tournament is still going strong and will celebrate 30 years in 2025. Spending time with the youth and teaching them has been extremely rewarding.
As a leader and volunteer in our community, I currently serve on the Greater Greenville board of directors and am currently serving as a councilman for ward 5 in the City of Greenville.
