On a Thursday in late June of 1969, Ben Wasson, then DD-T Book Editor, drove his car past the corner of Broadway and Percy Streets in downtown Greenville to find the doors open to the old Percy home there.
There was a sign in the front yard that read: “Home for sale or Lease.”
