Keith Gann, owner of Wise Solution LLC, appeared before the Greenville City Council on Monday to discuss how the city would benefit from the security and surveillance service he provides through his company.
Wise Solution LLC, a locally owned and operated business, provides security solutions to all of the Mississippi Delta and surrounding areas.
The strongest appeal of Gann’s presentation to the council was just that — Wise Solution is local and a homegrown business.
“We’re trying to let the city know you don’t have to reach out to somebody in Memphis or Jackson or Little Rock, you have a company here in town who can not only provide the product, put it in place, and do any necessary repairs,” Gann said.
For several months now, the Greenville City Council and Greenville Police Department has been working toward acquiring a feasible, yet effective, reinforcement to help reduce crime in the City of Greenville.
SkyCop Inc., a Memphis-based security company, presented to the council several months ago as they specialize in municipal and public security.
The company uses advanced technology to proactively support law enforcement in keeping businesses, homes and communities safe.
Gann said that Wise Solution is offering relatively the same type of system and capabilities as SkyCop, but in a much more cost-effective way.
While SkyCop will be allowing the city a 30-day trial of the system, Wise Solution will be giving the city somewhat of a “try before you buy” opportunity as well when the SkyCop trial is over after discussions with Mayor Errick Simmons, Greenville Police Chief Delando Wilson and the city’s IT Director, Mark DiBiase.
“We’re gonna build a custom system to match the specifications of what SkyCop is gonna provide and along with that,” Gann said. “We’re gonna supply a cost of how much that particular unit would be.”
The City of Hollandale recently purchased a system from Wise Solution and are nearing the end of the installation period, according to Gann.
“We’re waiting on some power to be supplied for the panel and the unit should be operational within the next couple of weeks,” Gann said.
Not only are Hollandale city officials excited about being operational very soon, but according to Gann, they were quite pleased with the price.
Gann emphasized the significance of local ties and partnerships within the community.
He pointed out the economic factor in that giving a local company the opportunity to provide such a service means the money will essentially be poured back into the city and the county.
“We’re a part of Main Street Greenville and I’ve been a member of the Rotary Club now for a couple of years,” Gann added. “Not only do we eat here, live here and shop here, but we’re invested in the community.”
There are three reasons why Gann said the Wise Solution system would be the better choice:
* personalization and customization of the system;
* the city’s needs; and
* and cost effectiveness.
Gann gave the council a first-hand look of what the system looks like before any customizing and he believed his presentation was well received.
Although the city has not made any definite decisions as of yet, Mayor Errick Simmons applauded Gann’s efforts and said, “The City is very pleased to have a local company offer to provide public safety surveillance cameras throughout the city.”
