A woman turned herself in to the Greenville Police Department Wednesday afternoon for a violent fight that broke out Tuesday night at a local gas station.
Assistant Police Chief Michael Merchant said 34-year-old Jacquetia Davis has been charged with attempted murder for an altercation involving beer bottles and a firearm.
Officers were dispatched shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday to the Double Quick at the 500 block of Mississippi 1 North for a “large disturbance,” Merchant said.
As officers were headed to the gas station, Merchant said they were told an injured person was at the 700 block of Cason Drive.
“When officers arrived on scene, they located a 25-year-old black female who appeared to have suffered some head injury in the 700 block of Cason,” he said.
Merchant said the victim appeared to have been struck by beer bottles while at Double Quick. “It was also discovered a firearm was fired during the incident, but at this time we do not have anyone who was struck,” he said.
Shortly after a warrant for Davis of aggravated assault was made public Wednesday afternoon, Merchant said she turned herself in to the police department.
Davis has now been charged with attempted murder. No bond has been set at this time.
