BENTON — It didn’t take long for the St. Joseph Catholic School baseball to enact revenge Saturday.
After losing the first game of a doubleheader 11-1 to Benton Academy, the Irish stormed back and defeated Benton by the exact same score, 11-1, in the second game of the twin bill.
In a complete game victory, St. Joe’s Carson Graham gave up just two hits while striking out five in game 2.
Also in the second game, Elvis Scott had three hits, while Greg Fore, AJ McCloud, Jordan Jennings, Jack Hughes and Kaleb Lockett each had a hit.
Simar Thomas and McCloud each had three RBI as well.
Scott, Fore, Graham, Moore and Kaleb Lockett all had an RBI.
The Irish also stole 11 bases in the game.
JB Middleton was the winning pitcher in game one for Benton, and he struck out 14 batters. Benton’s Middleton and Will Saxton each homered in the game.
The victory in the second game moved St. Joseph’s record to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in District 4-2A. The Irish were next scheduled to play Manchester Academy in a doubleheader on Tuesday.
In the first game, Graham, Fore McCloud and Jordan Jennings each had a hit, with Jennings driving in the only run.
