Three men have been arrested in connection to Sunday night’s Eighth Street shooting that sent a 12-year-old girl to a Jackson hospital.
Greenville Police Department detectives this week arrested 21-year-old Kelvin Lewis, 18-year-old Jerome Pickett and 19-year-old Willie Davis Jr.
All three men have been charged with Shooting Into an Occupied Dwelling and eight counts of Attempted Murder. Their bonds have not been set at this time.
Greenville Police Chief Delando Wilson said at about 1:40 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to the 400 block of North Eighth Street in reference to shots fired in the area.
Once officers were in the area, Wilson said they were notified of a shot person in a house in the 400 block of North Eighth Street.
Inside the home, officers found the 12-year-old girl with a gunshot wound, who was transported to Delta Regional Medical Center before being transported to a Jackson hospital.
“(The child’s) last condition was listed as critical, but stable,” Wilson said Monday.
Wilson said the child’s mother was also injured with a graze wound from a bullet. She was driven by personal vehicle to DRMC and released shortly after.
Witnesses inside the home told detectives someone fired several shots into the house from outside of the home, which struck the two victims.
